We accomplish this by structuring our seminar around the CAS Learning Objectives (LO) and Knowledge Statements (KS). These LO and KS are HIGHLY correlated to the types of questions appearing on the past CAS exams. Therefore, instruction and problem solving is focused around these highly detailed and exam question based LO and KS.

2. To assist in the development of efficient problem solving approaches and techniques.

We accomplish this by reviewing past CAS exams and assist students with the following:

a. Developing uniform methods towards solving past CAS exam questions which lend themselves to a step-by-step approach.

b. Identifying noteworthy material that has yet to be examined.

c. Identifying past CAS exam questions which tend to "resurface", and recommending which ones are worthwhile for exam preparation.

Classroom time will consist of a mixture of lectures, and practice problems. The lectures will range from brief summaries to thorough explanations, depending upon the difficulty and importance of the material. The practice problems covered during the seminar will not only include some of the more important questions contained in the instructors' study manuals, but also practice questions from the respective text books.
