Mr. Bob Scott, FCAS, and Mr. Richard Zarnik, ACAS are the instructors for the All 10 Exam 6 Seminar.  This five-day course consists of 10 sessions.  Morning sessions run from 8 am to 12 noon.  Afternoon sessions run from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Materials you will receive:

1.  Prior to the seminar,  registrants will receive ALL 10's "Actuarial Notes for the FALL 2008 CAS Exam 6".  This comprehensive set of study manuals (in excess of 1050 pages) serves as the fundamental preparatory tool for the review course and exam preparation.

In addition, registrants will receive login access to our online web services (online study time and task manager, recommended reading schedule, and online study guide, prepopulated notecards (over 300), article formula sheets, time and question management access, etc).  For more information on each of these products, click here and then on the links on the left hand side of the page. Registrants will also have access to taking our online preparatory exams.  The number of online preparatory tests that registrants have access to are determined by the study program they have purchased, which accompanies the seminar purchase price: Ultimate Study Program or Essential Study Program.

2.  At the seminar, registrants will receive comprehensive study aids (i.e. additional summaries, questions and solutions) including:

  • FASB 113, GAAP, and  Reinsurance Accounting
  •  Clark - "Basics of Reinsurance Pricing."  This study aid, produced by Bob Scott and edited by Richard Zarnik, is exceptionally well done.
  • 8 other study aids
Registrants will receive 10 seminar session handouts containing summaries, questions and solutions totaling over 350 pages.

3.  After the seminar, registrants will have the opportunity to take 10 (if purchasing the seminar with the essential study program) or 15 (if purchasing the seminar with the ultimate study program) online preparatory tests. These are designed to reinforce your understanding of the material at a time when you should be ready to do so.

Our Exam 6 Seminar and Ultimate Study Program provides candidates with  Access to our Independently Authored Preparatory Tests (Online and In Paper Format).

Our Independently Authored Preparatory Tests comprise:

  • One set of three MC exams consisting of over 60 modified past CAS MC and computational questions (in Paper Format only)
  • One set of five exams with over 125 challenging questions and solutions (Online and In Paper Format).

CAS examiners develop questions that are aligned as closely as possible to the guidance given in the CAS Learning Objectives and Knowledge Statements.  Therefore, we've aligned the questions appearing in these independently authored exams with the CAS Learning Objectives and Knowledge Statements.
The online modified past CAS TFMC questions tests and online Past CAS essay tests operate exactly like our independently authored online exams with three exceptions:

 a. The TFMC questions are past CAS questions which have been slightly modified (e.g. verbiage modifications, data changes, etc.).

 b. These tests consist of true/false and multiple choice questions which are completely auto-graded.

 c. The essay tests are self graded

Candidates taking our past CAS essay tests online will be able to compare their answers to our model solutions and to the CAS model solutions. As candidates are now aware, the points associated with essay-based questions account for a significant percent of the total points tested on CAS exams.
