We understand how difficult it is to pass CAS Exam 5. We understand what it will take to do so, so we share with you the following.
A 30.4% effective pass ratio for the Spring 2011 CAS exam 5 makes clear that candidates must be well prepared to achieve a passing score on future exams.
According to the CAS exam committee, when selecting a pass mark, "one question can mean the difference between passing and failing. Thus, candidates are encouraged to aim for higher performance levels than the level needed to barely pass prior examinations."
This prompted us to undertake an independent review of our study programs
because we strive to produce the best study materials for our customers.
During 2011 and in 2012, we have retained Kimberley Ward, FCAS
as a consultant to review and enhance the quality of our Exam 5A ratemaking manuals
and online videos. This decision was made to ensure that our Manuals and
Study Programs are "Best-of- Breed"

Our Best Online Study Aids to Achieve a Passing Score Online Study Note Guidance.
Online Article Formula Sheets. Article Formula Sheets include both a summary of key formulas presented in each syllabus reading, as well as a
'recap' of key formulas needed to answer past CAS questions.
An ability to recall key formulas or a step by step approach using key formulas to answer past CAS questions, likely to appear on future CAS exams from articles that have been tested extensively over time,
places candidates at a distinct advantage.
For example, questions asking you to use the reported development technique
to estimate the unpaid claims for a given accident year, tend to be repetitive since virtually every
way to examine this concept has already been tested.
