A 30.4% effective pass ratio for the Spring 2011 CAS exam 5 makes clear that candidates must be well prepared to achieve a passing score on future exams.
According to the CAS exam committee, when selecting a pass mark, "one question can mean the difference between passing and failing. Thus, candidates are encouraged to aim for higher performance levels than the level needed to barely pass prior examinations."

An ability to recall key formulas or a step by step approach using key formulas to answer past CAS questions, likely to appear on future CAS exams from articles that have been tested extensively over time, places candidates at a distinct advantage.

2011 Exam 5 - Repeat Customer Policy.   We want you to succeed! Therefore, we have updated our Repeat Customer Policy (effective 12/8/2011) as follows: 2011 Essential and Ultimate Study Program buyers can access our online study aids, free of charge. Do so by filling out our online study program order form, indicate that you were a 2011 study program purchaser, and state on the order form "Provide me with free access to your exam 5 online materials". Upon validation of your 2011 order, you will be emailed your UID and PW no later than 1/2/2012.

2012 Exam 5 Study Program Guarantee.  If you should not pass in the Spring 2012, Essential and Ultimate Study Program buyers can access our online study aids, free of charge, during the Spring of 2013.
