Why take Online Exams?
How will you measure how prepared you will be for the Spring 2005 CAS Exams?

Presently, candidates preparing for CAS exams have limited ways to test their understanding of the syllabus readings. However, determining where their strengths and weaknesses lie during the weeks before the actual exam is crucial in securing a passing grade.

To rectify this situation, ALL 10, Inc., in conjunction with a web development consulting firm, has developed a first class online test taking facility to assist students preparing for CAS exams. This online testing facility simulates actual testing conditions as closely as possible and provides students with post exam diagnostics and solutions.

Exams offered
We offer two types of exams: exams consisting of independently authored questions and exams consisting of modified past CAS questions. The latter is free of charge and accompanies the purchase of our study manuals. For more information on these exams, see the product page for each of our study manuals.

We offer five preparatory tests to candidates sitting for Exams 5, 6, 7, and 9. These exams are superior to those which accompany our manual for the following reasons:

The questions are independently authored. All candidates are looking for new questions which mirror the degree of rigor that they can expect to see on the actual exam. We will provide you with approximately 100-120 new questions per exam.

Essay questions are reviewed and graded. As candidates are now aware, essay-based questions represent a significant percentage of the questions appearing on the actual CAS exams.

Computational questions are more challenging. They are also graded with partial credit given to reasonable answers.

To determine what articles are tested on each of the prep tests, date available, exam duration, etc., see the study program  page for each of our study programs.

The benefits of Online Exam

Your results are accessible to you IMMEDIATELY after taking the exam.

To understand where your strengths and weaknesses lie, weeks before the actual exam.

To gauge your performance relative to the competition.

To determine how best to spend your study time in the weeks prior to the actual exam.

To reduce your anxiety levels by exposing yourself to mock exam testing conditions.

How each exam is constructed
Each preparatory test was constructed with the following criteria in mind:

Question Type
Our exams include only those question types that candidates will be exposed to.

Degree of Difficulty
The degree of difficulty associated with the above question types parallels that of prior CAS questions.

Time Allotted
Our online exams are timed and range from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes. These times have been scaled down from typical CAS exams to reflect the fact that a smaller number of articles are examined per test.

Articles Covered
Our preparatory tests cover smaller segments of the syllabus readings. This has been done to test your understanding of a more manageable amount of material. Testing smaller segments of the syllabus readings MAKES SENSE and helps candidates identify where their strengths and weaknesses lie, by syllabus segment.

Number of Questions
The number of questions are a function of the points per question. See Points per Question below.

Points per Question
Typical CAS exams consist of one hundred point tests conducted over a four hour period. The points awarded per question parallel those examined by the CAS (e.g. T/F worth 1/2 point, Multiple Choice worth 1 point, and Computational/Essay questions having points varying by the degree of difficulty associated with the question.
